Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday, considered the disciplinary action to be taken against Puttalam district Parliamentarian Sanath Nishantha as a disciplinary action to be taken against all SLFP members in the Puttalam district.

“Taking disciplinary action against Nishantha is against the wish of the majority of people in the Puttalam district, as he is the most popular parliamentarian who entered Parliament by polling the highest number of preferential votes from the district,” he said.

Rajapaksa insisted that vengeance, hatred and malice would help no one, but would distance everyone from the party.

“This type of decision would make party members more disappointed over the party,” he said.
