Tamil National Peoples Front (TNPF) leader and MP Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam who was arrested over an incident in Jaffna between him and the police, was gran

ted bail by the Kilinochchi Magistrate’s Court.
He was granted bail with a surety of Rs. 500,000.

The MP was arrested this morning (June 7) by the officers of Maruthankerni and Jayapuram Police stations.

He was produced before the court after recording a statement.
The Kilinochchi magistrate earlier imposed an overseas travel ban on the MP and ordered him to issue a statement to the Maruthankerni Police.
