Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Namal Rajapaksa has resigned from all his portfolios, sources confirmed.

Cabinet Ministers are presently in an urgent cabinet meeting with President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa. More crucial resignations are expected in the coming hours.

Meanwhile the wife of Minister Namal Rajapaksa, Limini Rajapaksa and her parents have left the country today morning, amidst rising public protests against the government, the Daily Mirror learns.

Limini Rajapaksa and her parents left the island for an undisclosed location, sources confirmed.

It is unclear if the other two daughters in law of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa have also left the country.

However Daily Mirror learns that nine people in total left the country this morning.
