Catholic Archbishop of Colombo His Eminence Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith met UNHRC High Commissioner Michelle Bachelet in Geneva today.

The meeting comes two days after Cardinal Ranjith met Pope Francis and briefed him on the investigations that are being carried out on the Easter Sunday bomb attacks in 2019, and stressed the need to seek international assistance to uncover the mastermind behind that gruesome suicide attack.

A brief press release issued by Auxiliary Bishop of Colombo Rev. J. D. Anthony Jayakody confirmed that the Cardinal’s meeting with the UNHRC High Commissioner.

He said the meeting took place at 2.30 pm Sri Lanka time in Geneva.

“Cardinal Ranjith discussed about revealing the truth behind the Easter Sunday terror attacks,“ the Auxiliary Bishop said.

A press conference which was to be held in Colombo on the meeting which Cardinal Ranjith had had with the Pontiff, was called off later during the day.
