President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has today (19) declared that he would contest for a second term in office.

The President has made this observation during a meeting held today with owners of media institutions.

This observation comes at a time when there’s much speculation in the local political arena on the governing Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna’s (SLPP’s) next presidential candidate.
