Sajith Premadasa Planning to Contest Parliamentary Elections as Leader of the “Jathika Samagi Balavegaya” (National Unity Force) Under Heart Symbol

Premadasa is likely to contest the forthcoming election leading a new alliance called the Jathika Samagi Balavegaya (National Unity Force), officials at the Opposition Leader’s office said.

They said the new name and its Heart symbol was registered with the Elections Commission Monday morning.

“It will become official once the proposal is passed at today’s Working Committee meeting of the United National Party due to start at 4 pm at Sirikotha,” the official said.

An English translation of the new name has not yet been registered although Twitter is calling it the National Peace Alliance.
