Disruptions: Political, Legal, Economic and Social Facets of the Crisis
The October 26 parliamentary debacle pushes us to seek a broader understanding of the causes and implications of this crisis for parliamentary democracy.
The seminar is a gathering of academics, activists, and interested persons looking for answers and a way out of this debacle.
The seminar seeks to develop analysis of the current crisis drawing on both the longer-term developments leading to recent disruption and the future political, legal, economic and social trajectories that are at stake.
The half day discussion-oriented seminar will be facilitated by short (10 minute) presentations on the following topics:
· Politics and Parties
· Law and Constitution
· Economy and Labour
· Democracy and Society
