Chief Dealer of Perpetual Treasuries Nuwan Salgado yesterday told the Presidential Commission of Inquiry probing the bond scams that the company’s Chairman Arjun Aloysius had received a copy of the COPE report containing the Chief Executive Officer of the company Kasun Palisena’s evidence, from Kanishka Senanayake, the son of former UNP Parliamentarian Rosy Senanayake.
Salgado was giving evidence before the Commission after the recording of a telephone conversation was played.
Salgado confirmed that in the recorded telephone conversation reference was made to Rosy Senanayake and one could hear her son Kanishka’s name being mentioned.
Salgado said Rosy Senanayake had been an MP and member of the first COPE committee.
The witness said Rosy was a member of the COPE Committee chaired by DEW Gunasekara in the Seventh Parliament.
He told the Commission Rosy Senanayake’s son referred to in the recording was Kanishka Senanayake.
Salgado said that he believed Kanishka Senanayake and Arjun Aloysius were friends.
