The body of the businessman abducted in Bambalapitiya , Mohamed Sakeem Sulaiman, was found on the Hemmathagama Road in Rukulagama in Mawanella yesterday evening.
The victim whose face had been disfigured with serious injuries, believed to have been made by a blunt instrument, was in identified after several police teams including a special team from Colombo had reached the scene last evening.
Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Peiris today issued a travel ban order on five individuals, who are alleged to have been involved in the abduction of the Bambalapitiya businessman whose body was found in Mawanella last night.
The CCD filing a motion in Court sought court permission to impose a travel ban on the five individuals who are residents in the Wellawatte and Dematagoda areas.
The CCD also obtained a court order to send blood samples recovered at the scene where the crime had taken place to the Gintech institute to compare DNA samples with the victims father’s blood.
The prosecution informed court that it had initiated a broad investigation over phone calls received from the suspects prior to the incident
