UPFA Puttalam District MP Sanath Nishantha threatens to move courts against President Maithripala Sirisena if the latter removes him from the party. He says he will also expose all those who are out for his scalp.
He said he would not accept President Sirisena as the Chairman of the party.
Commenting on speculations in political circles that he would be removed from the party for attending the recent Pada Yathra, the MP said: “I do not accept President Sirisena as the SLFP leader because he contested the last presidential election from a different party backed by the UNP. He contested against the SLFP Presidential candidate Mahinda Rajapaksa. If I am sacked from the party I will sue the President under the provisions of the 19th Amendment of the Constitution.”
