Nirmala Kannangara, Features Editor and Investigative Journalist of The Sunday Leader Newspaper, received the 2015 Inquirer Award for the Best Investigative Journalist in print media by the Thompson Foundation last evening at the Jubilee Hall, Galle Face Hotel, Colombo.

Supported by the British High Commission in Sri Lanka with the collaboration of Sri Lanka College of Journalism and Sri Lanka Press Institute, the Thompson Foundation called applications from journalists in Sri Lanka and the Maldives to honour the best in investigative journalism.

Deputy British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka and the Maldives, Mrs. Laura Davies and Chief Executive Officer of Thompson Foundation, Nigel Baker, were the Chief Guests at the awards ceremony.
