Deputy Minister of Justice Sujeewa Senasinghe says that the former President Mahinda Rajapaksa cannot be blamed for the Kotahena shooting.
Speaking to Ceylon Today, the Deputy Minister said y that the Kotahena shooting looks to be an underworld clash and not spiteful vengeance by the Rajapaksas.
“The Rajapaksas cannot be blamed for every bad thing that happens just because they are the perfect scapegoat. The Kotahena shooting incident could have been an underworld clash and not something instigated by the Rajapaksas,” Senasinghe said, adding “It is clear to anyone that the Rajapaksas are indeed responsible for Wasim Thajudeen’s murder but I don’t think they are responsible for this shooting incident.”
An unnamed armed group opened fire at a group of people who were canvassing for the election at Bloemendhal road, Kotahena in Colombo killing one and injuring 13 others Friday (31) afternoon.
