Officials Will not Record Mahinda Rajapaksa’s Statement at his Residence as Ex-President is “not in a Position to do so”

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa had sent a letter to the Chairman of the Bribery Commission stating he was not in a position to give a statement to the Commission as the commission had not informed him of the charges related to the inquiry.

The Bribery Commission previously said it would visit the former President’s residence and record a statement on April 24.

However, following Rajapaksa’s letter, which was sent to the Chairman of the Bribery Commission on April 23, the officials of the Bribery Commission did not visit the residence of the former President.
