Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya has directed the police to produce in court 27 persons, including nine Buddhist monks and eight MP’s involved on in Thursday’s protest opposite the Commisision to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).
The police told court that a group of persons launched a demonstration in suport of former Defence Secretary in spite of a court ruling against such a move. The group opposed the CIABOC’s decision to record a statement from Gotabhaya Rajapaksa as regards ongoing investigations into corruption at Mihin Lanka and Avant Garde Maritime Services.
