Attorney-at-Law Wijeratne Kodipilly yesterday informed media at the Superior Courts Complex that the Chief Justice Mohan Peiris, PC had not resigned.

He said he had been authorised by the CJ to speak to the media.

The aforesaid spokesman denied the media reports yesterday (22) and said not to repeat erroneous statements about the CJ, who had not submitted any letter of resignation.

Meanwhile the Chief Justice Peiris is listed to sit on the Supreme Court bench in the days to come.

A copy of a letter of denial rejecting erroneous media reports signed by CJ was handed over to the media by the spokesman.
