Faizer Mustapha has Secret Pact with Maithripala Sirisena but Ranil Refuses to Accept him Into UNP says “Ceylon Today”.

The secret pact that Deputy Minister of Investment Promotion, Faizer Musthapha, had entered into with common Opposition candidate, Maithripala Sirisena was proved yesterday beyond doubt as photographic evidence surfaced in the electronic media and websites showing Musthapha with Sirisena.

The photographic evidence showed that he was accompanied by the owner of a private television to meet Sirisena.

Following this discussion to join Sirisena the Deputy Minister suddenly departed for Singapore and was expected in the country yesterday.

Rumours were floated in political circles over the past few days that Musthapha would leave the government to join the common candidate.

However, Malik Samarawickrama, a confidante of UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe, telephoned President Rajapaksa last Saturday morning when the President was in Kandy and conveyed that though Musthapha was willing to join the Opposition, Ranil Wickremesinghe has refused to take Musthapha into the UNP fold.
