Tamil Nadu is a preferred destination for Chinese investments as it has good governance and infrastructure, and is known for its industrial-friendly climate, according to China’s Ambassador to India Wei Wei.
Mr. Wei called on Governor K. Rosaiah on Friday. According to a Raj Bhavan release, the Ambassador stressed the need for increased cooperation between India and China.
Mr. Wei also said there were about 600 Chinese students in the State, and 3,000 in India. “2014 is a friendly exchange year between India and China.”
Mr. Rosaiah said Tamil Nadu was a front-ranking State, the second largest contributor to India’s GDP, an IT and automobile hub and a tourist destination. The Ambassador’s visit would further strengthen the bilateral ties and promote trade between the two countries and with Tamil Nadu, he said.
