Kate and William Could have Named Son as Asoka,Shah Jehan or Maximillian Instead of “Plain” George.

So we may now look forward to another King George after the many we have had in the past. I had hoped that with all the unusual and glamorous names in British History, Kate and William might have been a trifle more adventurous.

Alas they have not. So let’s take a look at some of the more exciting names for which they could have opted.

There are some beautiful ones to be drawn from the Druids for example such a musical language had some extremely musical names. Myrddion and Merlinus sound lovely I think and roll trippingly off the tongue.

From the Saxons, Picts Normans and others come Ethelred , Athlestan or even Uther Pendragon … another three that spring to mind.

I can think of some great European names which may be quite acceptable since the New Prince hails from the Hanovarian line and in any case Queen Victoria saw to it that European Royalty had a good dose of British blood by marrying her many children to the Kings of Europe …… Maximillian, Nicholas or Ivan for example have quite a regal ring to them wouldn’t you say?

Or how about a glamorous Indian name since we now learn that Diana had Indian blood from a long lost ancestor.(She would do something off beat)

Emperor Asoka strikes a nice note, does it not? Were the baby Prince to be named after a great Indian Mughal like Jehangir or Shah Jehan, the Muslim citizens of Britain would be positively giddy with joy.

I trust no one will take issue with my suggestions. They are made merely in jest.
