{"id":77222,"date":"2022-04-28T01:05:18","date_gmt":"2022-04-28T05:05:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dbsjeyaraj.com\/dbsj\/?p=77222"},"modified":"2022-04-28T19:27:07","modified_gmt":"2022-04-28T23:27:07","slug":"kaluwaanchikkudi-police-obtain-court-order-restraiing-tna-parliamentarian-shanakiyan-rasamanickam-and-his-associates-from-participating-in-anti-govt-protests-in-the-btticaloa-district-for-14-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dbsjeyaraj.com\/dbsj\/?p=77222","title":{"rendered":"Kaluwaanchikkudi Police Obtain Court Order Restraiing TNA Parliamentarian Shanakiyan Rasamanickam and his Associates from  Participating in Anti-Govt Protests in the  Btticaloa District for 14 Days"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By<\/p>\n<p>Neshella Perera<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> A Sri Lankan opposition legislator has been prohibited from taking part in anti-government protests for a period of two weeks, a court ordered on Thursday (28) as protests in the crisis-hit island nation continued across the country demanding the resignation of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.<br \/>\nLocal police in the Eastern district of Batticaloa obtained the court order preventing Shanakiyan Rasamanickam, a legislator from the opposition Tamil National Alliance (TNA), and his associates taking part of any protest within the district for 14 days.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShanakiyan has been restrained from demonstrating against the government by a court order obtained by the Kaluwanchikudy Police,\u201d TNA spokesman M A Sumanthiran tweeted. <\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAgain (this) shows that law enforcement in the North and East is different from the rest of the country.
