{"id":66628,"date":"2019-12-05T21:00:18","date_gmt":"2019-12-06T02:00:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dbsjeyaraj.com\/dbsj\/?p=66628"},"modified":"2019-12-05T22:38:51","modified_gmt":"2019-12-06T03:38:51","slug":"since-former-health-minister-dr-rajitha-senaratne-seems-to-know-details-about-the-swiss-embassy-staffer-incident-it-has-become-necessary-to-record-a-statement-from-him-says-co-cabinet-spokesman-d","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dbsjeyaraj.com\/dbsj\/?p=66628","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Since Former Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne Seems to Know Details About the Swiss Embassy Staffer  Incident It Has Become Necessary to Record a Statement From Him &#8220;Says Co-Cabinet Spokesman Dr.Ramesh Pathirana."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By<br \/>\nNadira Gunatilleke<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Government has made a request to record a statement from former Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne in connection with the details he revealed about so called \u2018abduction\u2019 of a local employee attached to the Swiss Embassy in Sri Lanka, Plantations and Export Agriculture Minister and Co-Cabinet spokesman Dr.Ramesh Pathirana said.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Addressing the weekly cabinet press briefing held at the Government Information Department auditorium in Colombo yesterday, he said that it is obvious that the so called \u2018abduction\u2019 is aimed at tarnishing the good image of the Government internationally and therefore the Sri Lankan Government will act according to all existing rules, regulations and especially not getting antagonized as expected by relevant parties.<\/p>\n<p>Minister Pathirana said it seems Dr. Rajitha Senaratne knows details about the incident and the victim and therefore it is necessary to record his statement. A full and unbiased investigation is now being conducted by the CID on the incident even without a formal complaint from the victim and without any evidence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Sri Lankan Government will not act beyond available limits. For example the Sri Lankan Government will wait until the victim comes forward with the statement.
