The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) and the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) had decided not to participate in the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC), appointed to probe the Easter Sunday terror attacks.<\/p>\n
However, parliament yesterday approved a motion to set up a select committee to look into Easter Sunday attacks and to determine if any MP or minister was associated with the terror group which carried out the attack. <\/p>\n

Parliamentarians were appointed to the Select Committee probing the Easter Sunday explosions.<\/p>\n
Ministers Rauff Hakeem, Ravi Karunanayake, Parliamentarians Sarath Fonseka, Kavinda Jayawardena, Ashu Marasinghe, Jayampathy Wickremaratne and M.A. Sumanthiran have been appointed to the committee.<\/p>\n
UPFA General Secretary Mahinda Amaraweera his party would not get involved with the affairs of the committee. The Joint Opposition too did not nominate any member to the committee.<\/p>\n
The House yesterday (23) approved a motion to set up a select committee to look into the Easter Sunday explosions and to determine if any MP was associated with the terror group which orchestrated the attack.<\/p>\n
