{"id":58514,"date":"2018-03-24T17:43:17","date_gmt":"2018-03-24T22:43:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dbsjeyaraj.com\/dbsj\/?p=58514"},"modified":"2018-03-24T17:44:55","modified_gmt":"2018-03-24T22:44:55","slug":"ranils-man-friday-of-33-years-sudath-chandrasekara-in-backstabbing-move-resigns-special-assistant-post-after-releasing-7-page-letter-attacking-wickremesinghe-while-pm-faces-no-confidence-crisis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dbsjeyaraj.com\/dbsj\/?p=58514","title":{"rendered":"Ranil&#8217;s &#8220;Man Friday&#8221; of 33 Years Sudath Chandrasekara in Backstabbing Move Resigns Special Assistant Post After Releasing 7 Page Letter Attacking Wickremesinghe While PM Faces No Confidence Crisis."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong> Sri Lanka Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe&#8217;s &#8220;Special Assistant&#8221; has quit after launching a savage attack ahead of next month&#8217;s no-confidence motion.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The once powerful Sudath Chandrasekara announced the resignation after 33 years of service in a seven-page letter tearing into Wickremesinghe and making a series of allegations ranging from arrogance, indifference, cronyism and incompetence.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Chandrasekara was bitter that he had been relegated to a lowly position as &#8220;Special Assistant&#8221; without any responsibilities at the United National Party (UNP) headquarters after being a top aide to Wickremesinghe for decades.<\/p>\n<p>Among the key charges is Wickremesinghe&#8217;s alleged failure to reward supporters and help those who stood by the party at difficult times.<\/p>\n<p>Political sources said the resignation may have been induced by a political rival ahead of the April 4 no-confidence motion against Wickremesinghe.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a dustbin toppling letter.
