Asks the JVP."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Saman Indrajith<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The JVP yesterday demanded to know how a person accused of corruption by a Presidential Commission of Inquiry had been to Japan as a member of President Maithripala Sirisena\u2019s entourage.<\/p>\n<p>JVP MP Bimal Rathnayake said his erstwhile colleague Piyasiri Wijenayake, accused of corruption as per the PRECIFAC report,had accompanied President Sirisena during the latter\u2019s state visit to Japan.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Ratnayake said about 200 individuals had been accused of wrong doing as per the PRECIFAC report and Wijenayake was one among them.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Wijeynayake traveled to Japan with the President as a member of the official delegation and even took part in the round-table discussion with the Japanese Prime Minister. How can the court cases and legal proceedings against Wijenayake proceed under these circumstances?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He requested the government to forward his question to the Law and Order Ministry and get him a proper reply.
