\nAamir Khan bagged the best actor honour, while his movie \u201cDangal\u201d was adjudged as the best film at the 62nd Jio Filmfare Awards.<\/p>\n

The best director award went to Nitesh Tiwari for \u201cDangal\u201d, which is based on the life of Haryana wrestler Mahavir Phogat and his daughters.<\/p>\n

The awards, held on Saturday, was hosted by Karan Johar, Shah Rukh Khan and Kapil Sharma.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nThe best actress title was won by Alia Bhatt for her performance in \u201cUdta Punjab\u201d while Sonam Kapoor bagged the critics choice award for \u201cNeerja\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Ram Madhvani-directed biopic also bagged the critics award for best film.<\/p>\n

The best actor, critics choice, was shared by Shahid Kapoor for his role as a drug addict rockstar in \u201cUdta Punjab\u201d and Manoj Bajpayee for \u201cAligarh\u201d.<\/p>\n

Rishi Kapoor bagged the best actor in a supporting role for \u201cKapoor & Sons\u201d. Shababa Azmi was honoured for \u201cNeerja\u201d in the female category of the award.<\/p>\n

Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Shatrughan Sinha.<\/p>\n

The ceremony saw a host of performances by Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, Alia, Tiger Shroff, Jacqueline Fernandez, Varun Dhawan among others.<\/p>\n

Ashwini Iyer Tiwari took home the best debut director for \u201cNil Battey Sannata\u201d which starred Swara Bhaskar in the lead.<\/p>\n

Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh bagged the best debut-male, for \u201cUdta Punjab\u201d and Ritika Singh\u2019s performance as a budding boxer got her the best female debut for \u201cSaala Khadoos\u201d.<\/p>\n

Karan Johar-backed \u201cKapoor & Sons\u201d bagged titles best screenplay, best story, shared by Shakun Batra and Ayesha Devitre Dhillon and also took home the honours in background music, shared by \u201cUdta Punjab\u201d.<\/p>\n

With powerful lines, including \u201cNo means No\u201d, which highlighted the issue of consent, \u201cPink\u201d bagged the best dialogues award penned by Ritesh Shah.<\/p>\n

The music department was majorly dominated by Karan Johar\u2019s \u201cAe Dil Hai Mushkil\u201d which swept most of the awards in the category.<\/p>\n

Composer Pritam Chakroborty bagged the best music album for the Ranbir Kapoor-Anushka Sharma starrer. Best Lyricist award went to Amitabh Bhattacharya for \u201cChanna Mereya\u201d. Arijit Singh bagged the best playback singer male for the title track of \u201cAe Dil Hai Mushkil\u201c.<\/p>\n

Neha Bhasin took home the best singer female award for \u201cJag Ghoomeya\u201d from \u201cSultan\u201d.<\/p>\n

Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent was given to singer Amit Mishra for \u201cBulleya\u201d from \u201cAe Dil Hai Mushkil\u201d.<\/p>\n

Shah Rukh Khan\u2019s company Red Chillies secured the Best Visual Effects honour for \u201cFan\u201d. Best Editing award went to Monisha Baldawa for \u201cNeerja\u201d, whereas Best Costume was given to Payal Saluja for \u201cUdta Punjab\u201c .<\/p>\n

Manoj Bajpayee also bagged the best actor in a short film for \u201cTaandav\u201d while Tisca Chopra was adjudged best actress for her short \u201cChutney\u201d, which got the \u2018best short film\u2019 honour too.<\/p>\n

\u201cKhamakha\u201d bagged the best short film people\u2019s choice and \u201cMatitali Kusti\u201d was given the best short film trophy in the non-fiction category.<\/p>\n
