We&#8217;ll investigate &#038; prosecute perpetrators of the Yahapalanaya government based on existing #SriLanka law.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mal Baba Exclusive @malbabata: How would you justify the Colombo lands that were primarily leased to foreign investors during your tenure?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Response: If you tell me what these &#8216;primarily leased lands&#8217; are, I might be able to give you an answer.<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nSeyed ARSHA @ARSHADSeyed: What is the real relationship between your government and the Bodu Bala Sena? Why didn&#8217;t you take any actions regarding their activities against minorities?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Response: You can now clearly see as to who BBS is with.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MudithaSenartneYapa @muditha: Why did you sell several mines in Mannar to an Australian company, during your tenure, when we have the technology available locally?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Response: We have never sold national resources to foreign countries.<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nHuzaifaMohamedally @huz152: When will you make your move to regain power?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Response: When the people are ready, and we believe it will be very soon.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Max Murrell @MaxMurrell_42: As a British citizen who is half Sri Lankan and who wants to live in Sri Lanka in the future; what are your views on immigration?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Response: I welcomed our expatriates to return and help rebuild the country. You no longer have to be afraid. War is over. We need your expertise.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sri Lanka Tweet @SriLankaTweet: Have you ever done evaluation to identify reasons for the defeat in the last presidential election? What were the main reasons?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Response: Reasons are many and we have analyzed them. We are most certainly ready for the future.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Groundviews\u200f@groundviews: Why no prior announcement\/tender for initial China deals regarding the H&#8217;tota Port?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Response: Every negotiation with China during my administration followed the due process and it&#8217;s well documented.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You raised environmental concerns re-H&#8217;tota Port: Why was this not raised earlier, during your regime?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Response: In the latest agreement the project scope has expanded, which prompts further review of environmental concerns.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SalahudeenM.Fareen\u200f@FareenSala: Will the amended Constitution solve all existing issues specifically ethnic issue? Or will it favour either the minority or majority community?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Response: No clear picture has been placed before people yet, but we doubt the intentions.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nBeurk\u200f@UneBananeBleue: What are your thoughts about President Trump?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Response: I feel Donald Trump will lead the US with a renewed foreign policy that will respect sovereignty of nations unlike previous administrations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>HarshanaPeiris\u200f@Sriharshana: Why are you always absent when Parliament calls for vote, Ex: Budget, Amendments etc?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Response: I have always clarified my position in relations to all matters. I will be there at the most relevant time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>LalithKahatapitiya\u200f@Kahatapitiya: Sir, How can we prevent selling of our National Assets to Foreigners? Believe strategic action by you is vital.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Response: It&#8217;s only the power of the people that can stop this betrayal and pressure should be on people&#8217;s representatives to stand against this.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Little had been done towards industrial development during your regime and the present too. May I know your views?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Response: Look around &#038; see with your own eyes what development has taken place. In any case, we were rebuilding after a conflict. It has a time frame.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ranjit J Perera \u200f@Panhinda: If you get the chance to lead the country again, what things would you do differently?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Response: Whoever leads this country must do the right thing for the current and future generations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thushara Silva \u200f@thushara93: SLFP ministers, have proposed @MaithripalaS as SLFP Prez Candidate for &#8217;20 election. Will you contest against him?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Response: I believe it&#8217;s time for future leaders of #SriLanka to emerge and take this country forward.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nRangaSirilal\u200f@rangaba: What was the intention of your last visit to China? What assurance you gave China and what had China requested from you?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Response: #China has always been a friend of #SriLanka. We value their support. My request is to implement the project according to initial agreement without displacing people &#038; harming the environment.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nBhanuka Prasad \u200f@bhanukasn: What are your and the Joint Opposition&#8217;s reaction to the ECTA agreement?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Response: We are against it. Without solving the problems of the existing agreement we should not risk the job safety of Sri Lankans.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nRajpal Abeynayake\u200f@Abeynayake: We expect those in this Govt. attacking war heroes will be brought to justice someday. Can u pledge they will be taken to task?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Response: If anyone has abused the law they will be brought to justice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kavinthan s \u200f@Kavinthans: Are monks&#8217; robes being misused for political gains? How do you see this widespread criticism?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Response: It&#8217;s a historical phenomenon that priests come forward when there is a national crisis; it has nothing to do with politics.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Arun Arokianathan\u200f@aroarun: You claim that you are against selling agricultural lands in H&#8217;tota, then why did your govt decided to give the Sampur land to foreigners?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Response: Sampur like Norochcholai was a project that belonged to #SriLanka Government that was to be built by #India. We never sold any land.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Amantha@AmanthaP: You think #China would ever support a war crime inquiry, if you act against their interest?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Response: China always stood by us even when the west-led coalition brought resolution after resolutions against Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Did the Chinese Ambassador express China&#8217;s displeasure to your objection to the investment zone in Hambantota?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Response: No. The Ambassador also had concerns about the way the project is now being implemented.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Namini Wijedasa\u200f@Nimilamalee: Do you regret giving power and control to your family during your tenure as President.
