{"id":48294,"date":"2016-09-05T17:29:27","date_gmt":"2016-09-05T21:29:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dbsjeyaraj.com\/dbsj\/?p=48294"},"modified":"2016-09-05T17:29:27","modified_gmt":"2016-09-05T21:29:27","slug":"5-persons-aged-between-27-to-56-arrested-by-malaysian-police-in-perak-selangor-and-kuala-lumpur-for-attack-on-sri-lankan-high-commissioner-hunt-on-for-four-more-assailants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dbsjeyaraj.com\/dbsj\/?p=48294","title":{"rendered":"5 Persons Aged Between 27 to 56 Arrested by Malaysian Police in Perak, Selangor and Kuala Lumpur for Attack on Sri Lankan High Commissioner: Hunt on for Four More Assailants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><br \/>\nKuala Lumpur: Malaysian police said Monday they have arrested five people over the Sunday&#8217;s attack on Sri Lanka&#8217;s High Commissioner to Malaysia, Ibrahim Sahib Ansar.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Sri Lankan High Commissioner was assaulted by a group of persons at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport on Monday leaving him with minor injuries.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Five people have been arrested and we are investigating the motive for the attack,&#8221; Selangor state  Chief of Police Abdul Samah Mat told AFP.<\/p>\n<p>Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said the five arrested, aged between 27 and 56, were picked up around Selangor, Perak and Kuala Lumpur this morning.<\/p>\n<p>Four others are being hunted on suspicion of being involved in the assault against the envoy.<\/p>\n<p>The attackers were reportedly protesting the visit of Sri Lanka&#8217;s former president Mahinda Rajapaksa to Malaysia.
