Parliamentarian Johnston Fernando told Ceylon Today, &#8220;A group of LTTE sympathizers, who were protesting against former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, had surrounded the Sri Lankan Envoy and rigorously attacked him.<\/p>\n<p>The High Commissioner sustained head injuries and the Second Secretary, who was also injured, are currently being treated at a hospital in Kuala Lampur. <\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Protesters were shouting slogans against the former President when they arrived at the Airport.<\/p>\n<p>They then demanded of the Envoy to reveal the whereabouts of former President Rajapaksa. <\/p>\n<p>Ibrahim Ansar had asked the protesters to contact the Police on that.<\/p>\n<p> The protesters had turned furious at that response and attacked the Envoy until he bled from his forehead.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>The protocol officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also confirmed the incident stating, &#8221; We are aware of the situation. The High Commissioner  is safe now. He is undergoing treatment.
