{"id":47540,"date":"2016-07-27T15:18:07","date_gmt":"2016-07-27T19:18:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dbsjeyaraj.com\/dbsj\/?p=47540"},"modified":"2016-07-27T15:18:07","modified_gmt":"2016-07-27T19:18:07","slug":"muttiah-muralitharan-will-be-first-sri-lankan-to-be-inducted-by-international-cricket-council-into-the-icc-hall-of-fame","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dbsjeyaraj.com\/dbsj\/?p=47540","title":{"rendered":"Muttiah Muralitharan will be First Sri Lankan to be Inducted by International Cricket Council Into the ICC Hall of Fame"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced today that Sri Lankan off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan will be inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He is the first Sri Lankan to be accorded the honour.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Twice ICC Women\u2019s World Cup winner and former Australia women\u2019s captain Karen Rolton, Arthur Morris, a member of Don Brandman\u2019s \u2018Invincibles\u2019 and England\u2019s George Lohmann \u2013 the 19th century fast bowler who took 100 wickets in 16 Tests will be inducted alongside Muralitharan.  <\/p>\n<p>Family members will represent Lohmann and Morris at the ceremony, the ICC said.<\/p>\n<p>ICC Chief Executive David Richardson congratulated the four, saying: \u201cThe ICC Cricket Hall of Fame recognises some of the truly great players from cricket\u2019s long and illustrious history, and this year\u2019s inductees thoroughly deserve to be in this highly prestigious group.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMuralitharan has been one of the greats of the modern era.
