And we hope those are followed,&#8221; Dujarric said according to the Daily Press Briefing by the Office of the Spokesperson for the Secretary-General posted on the UN website. The post is a near-verbatim transcript of July 12th\u2019s noon briefing by Dujarric, the web said.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Dujarric commented after being asked by a reporter at a media briefing in New York to respond to reports that President Maithripala Sirisena has refused to agree to have international judges in the domestic accountability process.<\/p>\n<p>The reporter had asked: &#8220;&#8230; I wanted to know, the President of Sri Lanka, Mr. [Maithrepala] Sirisena, has recently said there will be no international judges in the working of accountability procedures which seems to be a stepping back from what he had said and was praised for saying.  Does the Secretary-General have any view on this stepping back?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Spokesman Dujarric has been quoted as having said: &#8221; haven&#8217;t seen those exact comments. There are issues between the international community and Sri Lanka and agreements to ensure accountability.
