{"id":42083,"date":"2015-07-10T16:58:27","date_gmt":"2015-07-10T20:58:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dbsjeyaraj.com\/dbsj\/?p=42083"},"modified":"2015-07-10T16:58:27","modified_gmt":"2015-07-10T20:58:27","slug":"unp-under-leadership-of-ranil-holds-special-party-convention-in-upbeat-mood-to-devise-strategy-for-august-17th-elections","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dbsjeyaraj.com\/dbsj\/?p=42083","title":{"rendered":"UNP Under Leadership of Ranil  Holds Special Party Convention in Upbeat Mood to Devise Strategy for August 17th Elections"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By<\/p>\n<p>Rasika Somarathna<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The United National Party (UNP) is expected to make several important announcements related to the upcoming Parliamentary election at today&#8217;s Special Party Convention held under the leadership of Prime Minister and Party Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe at Campbell Park, Colombo.<\/p>\n<p>The party leadership will place several proposals related to the election before the convention, party sources said.<\/p>\n<p>The UNP has also invited a number of other political parties to attend the event.<\/p>\n<p>The special convention will focus on the party&#8217;s election campaignn and strategies for the August 17 Parliamentary poll.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The UNP says that it will focus on safeguarding the movement of people&#8217;s power, led by the UNP which brought victory on January 8 and will unveil strategies and operations to turn this triumph into a major victory.
