\n\u201cOld Ceylon\u201d<\/em><\/strong> is lovely, chilled out and surreal beyond explanation. One small patch of land, nicknamed as the \u2018teardrop of India\u2019 perhaps has the sweetest people on earth and its landscapes diversified from hilly terrains to sandy beaches.<\/p>\n

Why would we prefer living anywhere else when we are blessed to be from Sri Lanka?<\/p>\n

So, here are 19 reasons why we Sri Lankans love belonging here.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\"1.<\/a>

1. Even after being dwindled by the civil wars and tsunami in the recent decades, Sri Lanka has stood its ground and is today, one of the most peaceful countries in the world.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"2.<\/a>

2. And the road to recovery seems quite promising<\/p><\/div>\n

\"3.<\/a>

3. The country has some of the most amazing beaches<\/p><\/div>\n

\"4.<\/a>

4. And the hills are no less in enchanting you with their beauty<\/p><\/div>\n

\"5.<\/a>

5. There\u2019s no dearth of beauty as far as your eyes can see<\/p><\/div>\n

\"6.<\/a>

6. Sri Lankan young croup is superbly enthusiastic and cool<\/p><\/div>\n

\"7.<\/a>

7. And equally spiritually inclined<\/p><\/div>\n

\"8.<\/a>

8. When we\u2019re blue we just climb up the Sigiriya rock and feel transcendent.<\/p><\/div>\n

9. Also, our Ceylon Lions never fail to make us proud!<\/p><\/div>\n

10. The fact that we have an orphanage for Elephants<\/p><\/div>\n

\"11.<\/a>

11. And a turtle conservation project, proves our passion towards wildlife<\/p><\/div>\n

\"12.<\/a>

12. We know how to have fun in water<\/p><\/div>\n

\"13.<\/a>

13. And underwater<\/p><\/div>\n

\"14.<\/a>

14. Because for a day you can live the life of a prince and a princess while getting married in traditional Sinhalese way<\/p><\/div>\n

15. In spite of being a developing nation, Sri Lankan traffic is so much more sane and less noisier than our neighbouring nations<\/p><\/div>\n

16. Because\u2026 Ceylon Arrack!<\/p><\/div>\n

17. And most importantly for the love of food you\u2019d never want to leave old Ceylon<\/p><\/div>\n

18. Because where else on earth do people fish sitting on a stick?<\/p><\/div>\n

19. Serendipity, the term that implies the happiness when you discover something unsought for, is derived from the Persian name of Sri Lanka, \u201cSerendib\u201d, which means \u201cisland of gems\u201d.<\/p><\/div>\n
