Their purpose is to ensure fair and equal treatment for Tamils, said Housing and Samurdhi Minister Sajith Premadasa.<\/p>\n<p>Minister Premadasa said some politicians make allegations against the TNA claiming that they supported President Maithripala Sirisena during the Presidential election to divide the country. This is a political lie used to mislead voters, he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;LTTE activists in London protest against TNA MPs Sampanthan and Sumanthiran by burning their effigies. Even TNA MPs have accepted the unitary nature of the state,\u201d said the minister.<\/p>\n<p>He added that politicians who try to mislead people by highlighting that TNA MPs are proxies of the LTTE, have become speechless due to the new political trends in the country.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If Sampanthan and Sumanthiran wished to see a separate State and supported Maithripala Sirisena to fulfill this purpose, it is a big question for us as to why LTTE supporters in the United Kingdom are protesting against them? The cat is out of the bag and the truth is revealed. The TNA MPs do not demand for a separate state. They only want equal treatment for Tamils,&#8221; said the minister.<\/p>\n<p>Minister Premadasa added that according to the Constitution, no citizen should be discriminated against on the grounds of race, religion, language, caste, sex, political opinion, place of birth or any such grounds and that every citizen has a right to be considered equal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are various extremist groups in this country who try to secure power by arousing racism.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople should not let these groups divide the country.
