Sumanthiran has denied President Mahinda Rajapaksa\u2019s allegation  at a meeting in  Chilaw that the TNA had signed a secret deal with Common opposition candidate Maithripala Sirisena and that he (Sumanthiran)had facilitated it.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dbsjeyaraj.com\/dbsj\/archives\/36303\/ms-mas-mr-new\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-36310\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/dbsjeyaraj.com\/dbsj\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/MS-MAS-MR-NEW.jpg\" alt=\"MS MAS MR NEW\" width=\"598\" height=\"551\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-36310\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>The TNA Parliamentarian who is also a lawyer has challenged President Rajapaksa to provide evidence in support of his allegation<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Sumanthiran\u2019s  categorical denial  and challenge  was made in Tamil to a   Tamil website \u201cAthavan News\u201d over the telephone.( http:\/\/athavannews.com\/?p=145831)<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nThe TNA MP has  also provided an English translation of his denial in the form of a Facebook post.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/NORcPbbJ4IQ?rel=0\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In his FB post, Sumanthiran states as follows<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have categorically denied the allegation made in Chilaw two days ago by Mahinda Rajapakse that Maithripala Sirisena and the TNA have signed a secret agreement and that I have facilitated this. He has also said that he has the evidence to prove this and that he will reveal it at the right time\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have challenged him to produce the evidence now and stated that he is resorting to such blatant falsehood thinking that will win him the votes of unsuspecting innocent Sinhala votes\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have appealed to the Sinhala people not to fall for this desperate and puerile tactics\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The original news report about President Rajapaksa\u2019s accusation appeared in the \u201cDaily Financial Times\u201d(Daily FT)and was re-posted on this site.<\/p>\n<p>It is reproduced here in full again-<\/p>\n<p><strong>President Rajapaksa Alleges that Maithripala Sirisena has Signed a \u201cSecret Deal\u201d with the Tamil National Alliance<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>President Mahinda Rajapaksa today alleged that the opposition Presidential candidate Maithripala Sirisena has signed a secret deal with the Tamil National Alliance (TNA).<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at an election rally in Chilaw, the President claimed that the secret deal was formulated by a team which includes TNA Parliamentarian M.A. Sumanthiran.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are watching these things very closely.
