{"id":33716,"date":"2014-10-01T23:28:23","date_gmt":"2014-10-02T03:28:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dbsjeyaraj.com\/dbsj\/?p=33716"},"modified":"2014-10-01T23:32:41","modified_gmt":"2014-10-02T03:32:41","slug":"external-affairs-ministry-has-had-misgivings-about-the-conduct-of-dr-chris-nonis-prior-to-the-alleged-assault-incident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dbsjeyaraj.com\/dbsj\/?p=33716","title":{"rendered":"External Affairs Ministry has had Misgivings about the Conduct of Dr. Chris Nonis Prior to the Alleged Assault Incident."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By<\/p>\n<p>Hafeel Farisz<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Government has still not launched a formal inquiry or investigation into the alleged assault on Sri Lanka\u2019s High Commissioner in Britain, Chris Nonis by MP Sajin Vass Gunawardena, Daily Mirror learns.<\/p>\n<p>The assault had reportedly taken place at the residence of Dilan Ariyawansa who hosted a dinner for the delegates attending the 68th United Nations General Assembly in New York.<\/p>\n<p>Sajin Vass is the monitoring MP for the Ministry of External Affairs.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>According to eyewitness reports the catalyst that led to the assault was a reference made by Dr. Nonis to External Affairs Ministry Secretary Kshenuka Senevirathne.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nHowever, according to informed sources, the Ministry of External Affairs has had misgivings with regard to Dr. Nonis\u2019 conduct.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Daily Mirror learns that Dr. Nonis has been repeatedly faulted for taking leave without prior approval from Colombo. Daily Mirror also reliably learns that he has been entangled in the abrupt and highly controversial transfers of three career diplomats who served in London to other posts.<\/p>\n<p>M. Amza, the current High Commissioner in Belgium, M.R.K Lenagala who was abruptly transferred out of office in 2012 and K.
