This is first time the monk has visited a foreign country.<\/p>\n<p>Ven. Wirathu was sentenced to 25 years in prison for his sermons in 2003. He was later released in 2010.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile it is reported that several Muslim organisations including the Sri Lanka Muslim Council wrote to President Rajapaksa and the Immigration chief protesting against the monk\u2019s visit which they claimed would be harmful to the country\u2019s ethnic harmony.<\/p>\n<p>Ven.
