The mob had around 250 villagers and was led by a group of 11 Buddhist monks who belong to the Bodu Bala Sena.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>The pastor explained that, in keeping with his right to religious freedom, he could continue with the worship activities. While the pastor was talking to the General Secretary of the Bodu Bala Sena, Galaboda Aththe Gnanasara thero, who incidentally led the attack,  his wife and he were dragged out of the premises and physically assaulted by the mob. The pastor\u2019s 18-year-old daughter was verbally abused during this incident.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Subsequent to the incident, the General Secretary of the Bodu Bala Sena gathered the villagers outside the pastor\u2019s premises and warned them against \u2018traitors\u2019 such as the pastor and his family. The monk went on to say that even Buddhist villagers who encourage such worship activities in future, would face the same consequences.<\/p>\n<p>A Christian member in the vicinity immediately called the police emergency hotline.
