Barack Obama\u2019s aversion to using military force or projecting American power in any form is well-known. Now with his most recent foreign policy decision, he appears to have taken his propensity for dithering and incredible reluctance to lead to a new level.<\/p>\n

The fact of the matter is that Mr. Obama doesn\u2019t need Congress\u2019s permission to engage in limited military action regarding the \u201cproblem from hell.\u201d Yet even though he\u2019s commander-in-chief, Obama still \u2013 after thirty months of people being slaughtered \u2013 doesn\u2019t want to make a decision about Syria. Instead he\u2019s decided to hand that responsibility to the same legislative body that he constantly criticizes.<\/p>\n

Evidently it is not enough for Obama to preside over eight years of American weakness and prevarication. He seems intent on actually undermining the executive office itself.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

At this point, it\u2019s very clear that on the foreign policy front, Obama\u2019s not having the second-term he would\u2019ve liked. The very last thing he wants is to get stuck in the Middle East.<\/p>\n

Yet it\u2019s not clear whether he\u2019ll do much better in terms of domestic policy. What is certain is that those running for office in 2016 \u2013 both Democrats and Republicans \u2013 will try to distance themselves from a president who remains uncomfortable with the office he currently holds.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s nothing remotely presidential about Obama\u2019s leadership style. Even worse, Obama seems intent on institutionalizing indecision, weakness and equivocation.<\/p>\n

Now what could be less presidential than that?<\/p>\n
