Their boat landed on the Nagapattinam shore at about 8.30 a.m., and the three injured were rushed to Thanjavur Medical College Hospital, while one was brought to the Nagapattinam Government Hospital. <\/p>\n<p>Six fishermen from Nambiyar Nagar fishing hamlet were fishing off Kodiakkarai, when their boat was intercepted and attacked at around 3.30 a.m. on Wednesday. <\/p>\n<p>Selvakumar, 22, who was admitted to the Nagapattinam Government Hospital with a broken wrist and injuries on his thighs and palms, said their boat was intercepted by an interceptor boat with three men on board.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe saw a man in the approaching boat waving a sickle at us. We tried to veer our boat off their course, but were rudely intercepted that their boat nosed atop ours,\u201d Mr. Selvakumar told The Hindu. <\/p>\n<p>Two men jumped aboard, and started attacking the occupants of the fishing boat. Of the six occupants, four suffered injuries in their hands, torso and one on the head, while attempting to ward off the strikes.
