“We must consider what steps will be taken by any party that comes to power after overthrowing the Government, to reduce taxes and commodity prices Says Udaya Gammanoila MP

Members of the public protesting against the Government should make sure that they are fully aware of the plans and policies of the political parties they expect to replace the current Government, or risk exacerbating the crisis in the country, warned “Independent” MP Udaya Gammanpila

“We request all the participants of the ‘araglaya’ to think about what the replacement will be if the Government is overthrown,” he said.

He added that any party expecting to replace the Government holds the responsibility of clearly communicating how it plans to ensure the country’s economic recovery.

He said: “Everyone should provide their remedies without solely criticising, and we must consider what steps will be taken by any party that comes to power after overthrowing the Government.”
Highlighting the importance of understanding how such parties aim to reduce taxes and commodity prices, Gammanpila encouraged members of the public to freely express their concerns without resorting to violence, as such would repel the tourists and investors coming into the country.
