Attorney General Dappula de Livera filed indictments against eight persons including deceased Zahran Hashim and Mohammed Husthun who carried out the suicide bombs at the Colombo Shangri-La hotel and Katuwapitiya St. Sebastian’s Church, in the Puttalam High Court for collection of explosives and maintaining an explosive manufacturing base in Wannathivullu area in 2019.

Coordinating Officer to the Attorney General State Counsel Nishara Jayaratne said that the Attorney General has also requested the Chief Justice to appoint a Trial-at-Bar to try the case.

The indictments have been filled against Mohammed Mufis alias Abu Dahida, Ameer Hamsa Mohammed Hamas alias Abu Safia, Mohammed Sarif Adam Lebbe alias Gafoor Mama alias Gafoor Nana, Ibrahim Sadiq Abdulla alias Abu Umar, Ibrahim Mohammadu Naufer alias Naufer Moulavi, Mohammed Ramish Mohammed Sajit alias Sajit Moulavi.

The indictments were filed under sections 2(1) G and 3(A) of the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) and Terrorist Financing Act comprising 14 charges against the accused, she added.
