Children and Armed Conflict Launches new website

by Radhika Coomaraswamy

Dear colleagues, partners, and friends,

As the primary users of our website, I am proud to announce that Children and Armed Conflict’s new website, http://childrenandarmedconflict.un.org goes live today.

A screengrab of the new site, Jul 25, 2012

Included in the redesign, are many new features that will make it easier for you to access essential and interesting information and stories.

Most notably, we have created a library for better document searching – http://childrenandarmedconflict.un.org/library. Also the new site includes:

SRSG Coomaraswamy visisted the Upper Nile State from 11-17 March and met with South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit

New Home Page Features

The new home page includes front page stories, the latest documents and press releases, slideshows from field missions, and our latest tweets.

Social Networking Integration

The site is now fully-integrated with major social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Youtube, Flickr, and others allowing for sharing of information, stories, videos, and multimedia content.

Related page, Documents and Press Releases

We have reorganized content and added related documents and information to each page.

The best part of the site is what you don’t see. With the new content management system, we can now update the content very quickly, even while on mission, to provide you with the very latest information.

As with any new site, we expect to find little issues here and there.

We welcome your feedback and comments to help us to continue to improve the way we communicate with you. Please send any comments to falcon@un.org
