The main opposition United National Party (UNP) challenged President Gotabaya Rajapaksa today to present the audit reports of the ‘Api Wenuwen Api’ fund to parliament.

Speaking to reporters this morning, UNP MP Sarath Fonseka said that by presenting the report, the president can prove to the general public that their money was well spent and spent right.

When he was the secretary to the ministry of defence, said Fonseka, Rajapaksa had told the media that a total of Rs 4,250 million was raised by the fund.
However, the money raised was not accounted for and only 200 small houses were built for soldiers with it, he added.
