3.The LLRC has recommended that the north and east is to be demilitarised.The UN has tabled a resolution that the LLRC recommendations must be implemented.So the question is not really whether the armed forces can stay in the north and east permanently,but when they are going to go back to the south.It is out of mahinda’s hands now.That is what happens when you try to be too smart and arrogant,you lose your crown little by little,like what happened to prabha.Mahinda and gota followed in his footsteps after the war,arrogantly taking on the world including india.

We take out our own frustrations on each other in these forums. Comment section is a vital part, which provides us with free therapy “money can’t buy”.

What are we going to do without it? I checked my health this morning after having read your unexpected birthday message, I think I am already suffering from withdrawal syndrome.

The only person who would be happy to hear the closing down of Transcurrents and comment section is my wife.

The comment section is the yard stick by which we can measure how much stupider both people have become. I am going to miss all the Stupid Tamils and Stupid Sinhalese and their very stupid comments.

I hope you would reconsider your decision to shut down both Transurrents and comments section.

Did you have to run like those innocent people, the answer most likely to be, NO.

Listen to me who ran from those LTTE killers and hid in the jungle and also saw the atrocities of all the stakeholders now,

We lived in harmony with all the people alike until the politicians and their thugs came to our villages and terrorize us all for their petty gains- Power, money etc.

People in general don’t go around and hack others, it’s only a minority who do that and that minority have their own agenda, which is remain in power. for that they need chaos and they’ll do that at the expense of the nation.

In our case it was a minority sinhalese and minority tamils who did that and the entire village suffered.

In my opinion the troops should stay, but not more than they exist in other areas of the country and we need to move forward mate not backwards. When are we going to get together and live like one nation, accepting the values of each other and respecting each other.

I remember a time we used to roam around the village on bicycles on Thaipongal , Deepavali, and Ramadan days and eat those delicious food they served us.

All the ethnic communities have suffered because of this and it’s high time the politicians realize that they are elected to do a job, not to feel supremos and abuse the entire nation.

I dont think Mahinda learning to speak in tamil will help to solve the ethnic problem in SL. what is needed to be done is to help the tamil civilians to get back to normal life and make tamil a part of sri lankan identity. Tamils are a part of Sl that is a fact but they are not represented by our SLn identity that is a problem and Gov should try to find answers for that. but instead gov is doing what it must not do. For example scrapping the tamil medium national anthem. that is totally unnecessary, stupid and racist. There is a section in the gov who think sinhalese learning tamil and tamils learning sinhalese would solve the problem, these people have not understood the ethnic problem we face.

How the tamil diaspora treats Mahinda is a different matter. They are no longer people (or any diaspora) of this country. We are the people of this country and it is up to us to solve our problems. Remember this very well. We should go for a reconciliation because we NEED it. We should go for a power devolution not because tamils ask for it, not because international parties pressurises for it but because SRI LANKA NEEDS it. The blind allegance that most of the sinhala people have for mahinda has given him a chance to change our judiciary system according to his ways and to take our democratic rights away. A proper power devolution should come along with good governance, media freedom and freedom of speech.

What is practiced in Sri Lanka is a far cry from Budhism. Sri Lankans must be ashamed to call themselves Budhists. You cannot become a Budhist by erecting statues in every nook and corner and planting bo-tree in every junction!!Budha never wanted him or his relics to be worshiped!!!Budha must be turning in his grave to see the murder and mayhem happening in Sri Lanka in his name!!!

He had already agreed to implement LLRC recommendation with USA. One of the important recommendations is to reduce or withdraw Sinhala army from North and East.
