The SLFP ministers representing the unity government are currently holding a discussion with President Maithripala Sirisena on their future course of action.
This comes in a backdrop where the party has suffered a landslide defeat at the Local Government elections 2018.
The discussion is taking place at the Paget Road residence of President Sirisena.
It is learnt that some of them are of the opinion that the party should re-unite with the UNP and proceed as the ‘January 08’ movement which brought President Sirisena into power.
However, another group is of the view that President Sirisena should offer the SLFP Chairmanship to former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
