Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa said he has not been invited to the 66th Convention of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP).
He revealed this at a function held on Wednesday (30) at the Kotte Rajamaha Viharaya, to hand over the post of Chief Sanghanayake of North America to Ven. Aluthnuwara Sumanatissa Thera.
Former Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa, former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa and former Minister of Justice and Buddha Sasana, Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe were present.
Asked by the media whether he had been invited for the SLFP’s 66th Convention, he answered “No, I have not received any invitation.”
However, when it was pointed out that he had been asked to attend, he said “No one spoke to me. Not only me, none of the others in the Joint Opposition have been invited.”
