Police headquarters yesterday announced the arrest of 14 persons, including some members of Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) in connection with ongoing investigations into communal violence.
Addressing the media at the Information Department, police spokesman DIG Priyantha Jayakody said that eleven Sinhalese, two Muslims and a Tamil had been arrested so far by investigators. He said that among the arrested Sinhalese were BBS members.
The officer said that the police were also looking for BBS leader Ven. Galogodaatte Gnanasara.
