Untill Douch came here it was the true position.They didn’t regard as second citisions but others respect them. History stand for the evidences.

Good article, Members of Sri Lankan diaspora should come forward to serve the society, it is very difficult to pay for them at the moment, they have to extend their service on contractual through an NGO or volunteer, a union of Jaffna schools must try a program and put all effort to sustain it.

There are two official languages and a ‘link’ language.
One official language has not been implemented as such,even many decades later.
Schools should teach the mother tongue and the link language.
The constitution was added on to, bit by bit, and parts of it are even now not implemented.
The latest addition – the 18th amendment, has virtually made the country a dictatership.
There will be more additions.
Our children’s future is uncertain.
The writer has noble sentiments, but unfortunately lives in a fantasyland.

Our government would not be interested in hiring English teachers or English medium teachers as it can hardly afford it. The Tamil diaspora would not make a commitment to come and teach in Sri Lanka on a regular basis either. The article is a wash and is not viable.

Beautiful factual analysis in simple English by Dr. Devanesan Nesiah. Yes need of the times to have constitution changed. The lead should comine from all the major parties from the Southas a team and agree to devolve power to the provinces within a united nation. Prof Vitharane chaired APRC can be revived too.

Yes it is time for SL southern leaders to learn from Indian and South African constitutions and from Nehuru and ,Ambedkar and Nelson Mandela about human values.

SL is in South Asia.

It is time for PhD holders from the Sinhalese brothers ,to reflect why BC pact was torn or aborted ? Even then why SWRD was killed when there was no Tamil rebels from the NE or South or rest of the country ?
