Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday said that the people of this country knew very well who was behind the killing of former “Sunday Leader” editor Lasantha Wickramatunge and if the CID questioned him about the killing he would reveal the identity of the killer.
When “The Island” queried the former President regarding the statement made by Minister Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka to the media at Hunupitiya, Wattala on the killing of former “Sunday Leader” editor, the former President said “Certain elements simply make comments without considering the consequences or its seriousness.”
Rajapaksa said the masses were keeping a watchful eye on what’s going on in the country and they were disgusted of the government.
Fonseka had told the media at a earlier press conference that the CID should interrogate the former President and his brother former Defence Secretary Gotaabhaya Rajapaksa on the Wickramatunge killing.
